On 15 June 2016 in Paton Welding Institute Training and Qualification Centre welders of combined welding were tested to prove their professional skills.
Successful candidates could apply to be involved in flowline construction project in South of Italy carried out by an International Oil Company.

As a test sample candidates were asked to weld a pipe, steel type 20, ND 219 mm and wall thickness 11 mm. According to Client’s WPS, the 1st and 2nd passes were performed by GTAW welding method (141) and filling and cap – by SMAW welding method (111).

4 specialists were tested, welded joints were visually inspected by a welding engineer – a representative of an Italian Client, and were exposed to radiographic quality control according to ISO 17636.
